Naysayer [ney-sey-er]

“one who denies, refuses, opposes, or is skeptical or cynical about something”

“a person who habitually expresses negative or pessimistic views”

Welcome to Naysayer.ca

My name is Tim Stewart.  I reside in the Olde Walkerville district of the great city of Windsor ON Canada.  We’re a small town with a big attitude.  We are blue collar, white collar and professional.  We are diverse.  We are rough and we are refined.  Windsor-Essex is simply a great place to live.  We aren’t without our problems but generally speaking we love our community.

That being said the past decade of municipal politics in Windsor ON has involved bully tactics, name calling and the divide and conquer mentality.  This website is named after one of the labels frequently used by former mayor Eddie Francis, current Mayor Drew Dilkens and a number of past and present city councillors to discredit those who oppose them.  Conspiracy theorists and boo birds and many others I can’t recall have been directed at people like me who simply ask too many questions or dare challenge the status quo.

I resent the name calling, the divisive politics, the lack of transparency and the polarization of my community.  I know that I’m not alone.  I’m not sure where this blog will take us but I’m looking forward to the conversation.  I don’t care about your political affiliation.  NDP, Liberal, Conservatives and all others are welcome to comment and discuss.  Keep it respectful and we’re good.  For me this is about the greater good of our community.  I’m not naeve.  I understand the party politics reaches the municipal level.  I still believe we can find common ground to improve our community and remain true to ourselves.  To me the status quo is absolutely unacceptable and unsustainable.

Welcome to Naysayer.ca  Thanks for visiting the site.  Looking forward to seeing you again.  I hope you’ll join the discussion.
